About Akshardham Delhi When it is Closed? Closed on MONDAYs Open from 9AM to 6.30PM You have to deposit your cellphones and other metallic items at the entrance for security reasons (Because of a bomb attack in 2002 in the Gujarat Akshardham)   How to Reach? They will charge you around Rs.100   Nearest Metro Railway Station (as on Dec 2008) is Indraprastha Metro Railway Station. From here catch an Auto Rickshaw or Taxi.or Bus From NewDelhi Railway Station : Akshardham is about 10 km from here.You should come out of the Railway station from Platform No.12 Side ( Not by Platform NO.1) ; About Rs.100 by Auto Rickshaw.   It is a Hindu Temple. Entry to the temple is FREE (except for the special exhibitions) This temple was inaugurated during 2005 by the the President of India. This temple is on the banks of Yamuna River. 7000 people engaged and 2 billion rupees spent for construction of this temple. General Info: It is the temple for Lord Swaminarayanan.It is almost the carbon copy of Adhsardham Temple located in Gujarat. For construction of this temple, no steel is used. Only sandstone and marble were used.
